Creativity

Computer Arts, March 2009, Page 110

This composition is named "Revenge" by Damian Jagielski. I find this to be a creative composition because of how it was made. The piece was originally named, "Revenge of Unfinished Works", because each character is from an uncompleted project of Damian's. He eventually decided to use them all together as one piece. The characters were created at different times, so some might feature a different style or technique.

Color Discord

Computer Arts, January 2012, Page 45 This composition shows Color Discord through its variety of color choices in their clothing. However, I do believe that this color discord still works in this piece. This was the cover for a fashion magazine that was designed to show the "future of fashion". It uses color discord to be bold in its message while pushing the boundaries of fashion.

Color Harmony Rules

Communication Arts, Photography Annual 46, pg 83 ANALOGOUS Communication Arts, Design Annual 48, pg 115 COMPLIMENTARY Communication Arts, Design Annual 48, pg 44 MONOCHROMATIC Communication Arts, Photography Annual 46, pg 94 TRIADIC Each of these four compositions follow a different color harmony. The first composition follows an analogous color scheme with its use of green, blue-green, and yellow-green. The second composition follows a complimentary color scheme with its use of a red background and green shirt. The third composition follows a monochromatic color scheme through its use of different yellows. The fourth composition follows a triadic color scheme through its use of the primary colors.

Positive/Negative Space

Communication Arts, May/June 2014, Page 205 This composition was made by Victo Ngai for a horror novelette by Dale Bailey. It displays a party before the end of the world. There are two different viewpoints to this composition. For the first, the background shows how people act "carefree" before anything bad is going to happen. But then in the center, the dancer commits suicide because she already knows the apocalypse is happening. For the second, the background show how people want to live their lives before the apocalypse catches up to them. Then, they see the dancer commit suicide and sort of embrace that as the "normal thing to do" in their current situation. Very interesting composition.
